The Eco-Council had a fantastic day on Wednesday, visiting Brailsford Ploughing Match. During the visit, we watched skilled farmers compete to create the straightest and neatest furrows in the fields. We also enjoyed seeing a hedgelaying competition, where competitors demonstrated precision and care while shaping hedges.
One of the highlights of the day was being shown around by Farmer Tom, who generously shared his knowledge and experience with us. He taught us about farming, the countryside and the importance of looking after the environment.
We also explored a range of competition tents, which showcased local produce, crafts, machinery and rural skills. The trip was both educational and enjoyable, giving us a greater appreciation of agriculture and life in the countryside. Everyone represented the school exceptionally well and returned with plenty of new knowledge and experiences to share.
