We have had an amazing week this week. We have continued to learn new routines, and we have now familiarised ourselves with the learning routine. Look below to find out what we have been doing this week. 

Maths

In our Maths learning this week, the children have been developing their skills in counting forwards from a given number, reading and writing numbers in words, and representing numbers in a variety of ways. To support this learning at home, I have set some Maths quizzes on Maths Shed that focus on the concepts we’ve covered this week.  

We then looked at counting objects from a large group and circled the amounts we counted. We also looked at how many objects were left.  

English 

This week in English we have been looking at using a subject, verb and object in a sentence. We organised different words into the right place and used these words to make our own sentences, using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. 

Art

In art this week we have been practicing drawing different lines, such as horizontal, vertical, diagonal, cross-hatch and broken lines. We listened to a range of music and draw which lines we think fitted in time to the music. 

History 

This week we have been looking at what schools would have looked like 100 years ago. We compared these schools to our school. Take a look at a video which we looked at: BBC Two - Watch, Within Living Memory - Life at School, School in the 1930s.
