Our Learning
We may have had a shorter week than usual but we have still been as busy as ever in Seals class! Our week has involved posters, photos and planning!
English -
We have continued our creative writing unit of work this week. At the beginning of the week, we edited and published our 'Boggy the Alien' stories from last week, concentrating on neat and clear handwriting. Towards the end of the week, we began planning another story. This time, we planned the characters, settings and plot individually rather than as a group. The Seals have created interesting characters and storylines so I look forward to reading their short stories next week.

Year 5 -
Year 6 have done an incredible job in Maths this week. At the beginning of the week, we finished our final White Rose Maths unit which involved solving problems with co-ordinates, translating shapes, and reflecting shapes. Following this, we focused our attention to fractions, decimals and percentages, reminding ourselves of the numerous rules and methods required to solve these calculations. Today, we spent time consolidating various areas of learning in Maths in preparation for next week, including money, time, shape and measurement!
Science -
After planning an investigation into mould growth last week, we took the time this week to set up our investigation and conduct observations. We will continue to gather findings over the next week, ready to analyse, draw conclusions and evaluate our investigation.
Homework -
Children have not been given a sheet of homework this week as we would like them to focus on revising their areas of need before the SATs are here. We do ask that they practise their spellings, times tables and read at home as much as possible alongside this.
