WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

05.06.2026

This week in Maths, we have started our unit on shape. We have been looking at angles. We have been identifying acute angles, right angles and obtuse angles and we have been looking at comparing and ordering angles. We have all now also had a go at the "try it out" multiplication check ready to have a go at the official multiplication check next week. I have chosen not to set homework this week and have asked everyone to spend some time over the weekend focusing on their multiplication tables.

In English, we looked at our new stimulus "The Lost Thing". We have read the picture book and we have watched the animation. We spent some time gathering and upleveling vocabulary and then we thought carefully about how the lost thing would be feeling. On Thursday, we had a lot of fun creating our own lost creatures. We then had a go at creating lost posters in an attempt to find their owner. We have also used comparative conjunctions to help us to compare 2 of the characters in the story. Next week, we are going to do some acting and this will lead us on to writing our own playscripts.

In Science, we have stated our new sound unit. We have been thinking about how sounds are made and how we hear them. There was lots of good prior knowledge to this and I was very impressed!
