Another very busy week in Kingfishers! Read below to see what we have been up to...

English

This week we have continued our learning on our stimulus 'The Dream Giver.' We completed some longer pieces of writing, working as a class to improve our vocabulary and ensuring we included expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbs and adverbs in our writing. We then watched the end of the animation... the NIGHTMARE! We worked on sequencing the events and writing our own sentences to describe these events. 

Maths

Our maths topic currently is money. We have been working hard on converting pounds into pence and vice versa. Some of the reasoning questions have been quite challenging but Kingfishers have worked incredibly hard on these. 

Science 

In Science this week, we have been looking at which items are magnetic. We used a wide range of different materials and objects and made predictions as to whether they would be magnetic. We then tested these items and discussed which items would/wouldn't be magnetic and why. 

Art

This week in art we have been replicating the artwork of the Ancient Egyptians. We ripped brown paper into strips and dipped these into PVA glue. We then stuck the strips together and lay them onto wax proof paper to dry. Next week, we will be sketching our designs onto our paper!
