WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/C 27.04.26

It has been another busy and productive week in our classroom! Owls, you have continued to work so hard, sharing thoughtful ideas and showing great enthusiasm in your learning — well done.

We’ve had lots of creative fun this week. You explored how to make your own pinch pots, inspired by the artist Ranti Bam, and showed great care and imagination in your designs. In Computing, you enjoyed learning how to use Scratch Junior to create your own animations — there were some fantastic ideas!

In Maths, we revisited our learning about time. You worked really hard to read and tell the time on a clock — great job! Why not show someone at home what you can do? Can you explain when it is quarter to the hour? Can you read the time to 5 minutes, or even convert hours into minutes? Have fun practising together at home — we’d love to hear how you get on.

In English, we continued our exciting work on Spy Fox. This week, we explored conjunctions — what they are and how they help us join ideas in sentences. You had great fun playing the corners game, choosing the best conjunctions to complete your sentences. You then used all your fantastic grammar skills to write your own build-up for the story, including using inverted commas — brilliant effort! Can you show someone at home how to spot a conjunction? Perhaps you could even teach them the corners game and create some sentences together.

In Phonics, we have been learning about the w-a (o) grapheme and how to add suffixes to these words. We especially enjoyed learning our “wasp” song of the week to help us remember the sounds. Keep up the great work with your reading and new words — and don’t forget to visit Spelling Shed to practise at home.

In Science, we continued exploring living things and their habitats. This week, you applied your knowledge by designing your own shoebox habitats — what fantastic creativity! Can you tell someone at home about your design? What habitat did you choose, and which animals might live there?

Keep up the fantastic work, Owls — we are so proud of each and every one of you.

Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend and enjoy your extra day off school. We look forward to seeing you again next week.
