We have had a very busy first week back! We have been having a go at assessments to show what we are really confident with and what we need to look at a bit more. Everyone has tried their absolute best with these so very well done Otters!
We will start a new English and a new Maths topic next week.
This week we have started our history topic on World War Two and the children have loved learning about it so far. Our first lesson was spent learning how World War Two started and what happened to cause another World War. We learned about the Treaty of Versailles, hyperinflation and how Adolf Hitler came to power. Then, we learned about the alliances and how different countries worked together. We coloured these on a map of Europe to show how powerful the Axis Powers were! In music the children finally got their hands on their ukuleles which will be coming home very soon and in French we continued our work on school and subjects.
In RE, we have been thinking about Jesus' missions and how he showed love. In PSHE, we have been thinking about our wellbeing and how we can stay connected, keep active, eat a balanced diet, rest and relax in order to stay happy and healthy. We planned out our ideal week with our wellbeing in mind. In art, we have been drawing observational sketches of houses. The detail that was included in these sketches was amazing!
The homework this week is on different elements of grammar. We will be handing out new spellings next week.
