Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Last week, a group of 8 children, from my chess club, represented our school in an inter-schools' tournament at Repton Prep. As always, their hospitality was superb and the lunch was incredible! Our children loved interacting with the children from the other schools and developing their chess skills and knowledge. Thanks to Repton for letting us use one of their mini buses.
A team of Year 2 footballers took part in the South Derbyshire ASP KS1 football tournament recently at Melbourne Sporting Partnership. Our team performed brilliantly but were beaten in the final by an excellent Church Broughton team. Well done and thank you to those that were able to help.
Today we had a super assembly all about UK Parliament. We had a visitor, Malcom Smith who told the children all about how parliament works and how laws are made. His assembly was very interesting and interactive. The children were all immensely engaged. This assembly supports our work about Democracy, one of the British Values and builds upon our KS2 School Council visit to the Houses of Parliament back in March.
Yesterday our reception children were visited by some baby lambs. They enjoyed stroking them and learning more about them. They even had the opportunity to give the lambs a bottle. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Falder who brought them in from their farm.
