Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our school was well represented at the Remembrance parade on Sunday 14th November. We had children in Beavers, Brownies and Cubs as well the choir in church. In addition to this our two Year 6 school council representatives laid a poppy wreath for our school to remember all of those, past and present, that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
This Friday Mrs Riley took the KS2 members of the school council to St Wystan's church to lay wooden crosses at the war graves for remembrance day. Our school council members were brilliantly behaved and were very respectful during our task. Well done to all involved.
Parents' evenings will take place week beginning 15th November. You will receive a letter with available timeslots for that week that you can choose from. In the 10 minute meeting you will get the opportunity to hear how your child has settled in and what they perhaps need to work on.
On Thursday we celebrated RSE day at school. Each class took part in RSE activities around the theme of "Faces". We talked about emotions and how we show emotions. We also talked about families and how all families are different, but all special. We talked about "Respect" and how we show respect in different situations. We also talked about love and ways to look after our own metal health. Finally, we also discussed positive self image and identified positive things about ourselves, building positive self-esteem and self-confidence.

Year 6 had a fantastic opportunity on Tuesday as part of their work on the circulatory system during our Science Week by going to Repton School to do a heart dissection. This first hand experience helped them produce some amazing work. Their behaviour was top notch so well done to the Year 6 team and thanks to Miss Jordan for organising.
This week we have had a group of Year 4 and 5 girls who have been extra keen to keep our school tidy. Armed with litter pickers and bin bags they have given up their lunch time to patrol the field clearing it of litter. Even though our school is very tidy they still managed to fill two bin bags with litter and rubbish that has blown onto our school grounds. Well done girls and keep up the excellent work!
Year 2 had a super trip to Carsington Water this week. The children learned about plants and wetland habitats. Their behaviour was perfect all day. Thanks to Repton School for letting us use their minibus for the day.

We can still have fun and raise money for this great cause even during these restrictive times. Thanks to Mrs Riley and our school council for coming up with the ideas. Children were dressed either as super heroes, in something red or Comic Relief merch.
All classes did fun activities and some classes did a talent show. Well done to all those children that took part!

Please see letter about all children returning to school on March 8th.
Following on from The Prime Minister’s announcement last night that all school children in England will return to school on 8th March we are looking forward to welcoming all our children back on this date. This news is very exciting as a full school means we are more like the Repton Primary that we all know again. The return in March to all children does not pose us with any panic or stress and we will revert back to the successful system that we had in place in September. The first term was a huge success in terms of very limited disruption so we intend to follow this again. We will of course welcome children back within these current restrictions until such a time, like the end of June, might allow us to ease measures even further.
So in the meantime, from 8th March, it will mean that all children will have a window of arrival in the morning, staggered play and lunchtimes and a staggered end to the school day. These arrangements will be as follows:
Start of day:
8.45 – 9am: Children arrive at school
End of day:
3pm: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
3.05pm: Year 3
3.10pm: Year 4/5 and 6
As before if you have a younger and older child please collect at the older child’s later time and the younger child will wait with their teacher.
Lunches
The smaller bubbles currently have meant that it has been possible to get all children through the dinner hall in the short space of time. With a full school however, this will not be possible with the bubble system. Therefore, it would be easier if your child brought in their own sandwiches but if they did want a cooked dinner then these would be available but would temporarily revert back to a take away style lunch. Of course if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or 2 or is entitled to a free school meal then these will be catered for. We will also plan to get Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 through the dinner hall in their allotted time.
Breakfast and after school clubs:
With all children returning to school and potentially parents returning to the workplace we are going to reopen our breakfast and after school provisions.
If you would like a place at breakfast club from 8th March please sign up in the usual way – contact Mrs Ward – breakfastclub@repton-pri.derbyshire.sch.uk
For after school club contact Premier on www.premier-education.com/parents/venue/courses/8191/
School Uniform
We expect all children to return in their full school uniform but we are also sympathetic to situations where children might have grown out of shoes or uniform items and places have been closed. If this is the case then please let your class teacher know.
We are very much looking forward to having all our children back again on 8th March so until then - take care.
Best wishes
Mr Tague
Unfortunately we have had to close our school on Monday 25th January due to adverse conditions caused by the heavy snowfall.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
